As part of the Exhibition, the Honolulu Printmakers commissions an
artist to make a Gift Print to celebrate the art of printmaking. This
year’s Gift Print Artist was a multi media print by Paul Mullowney, a
well-known Maui artist. The print itself is a closely guarded secret until
the opening reception of the exhibition. Honolulu Printmakers also
conducts free tours of the exhibition with demonstrations for school
groups and the general public. A popular program, Prints on the Road,
takes prints from the exhibition to rural schools that cannot travel to
see the show in person.
The Annual Exhibition is supported by the Hawaii State Foundation on
Culture and the Arts, Honolulu Academy of Arts Academy Art Center, Honu
Group Inc/Ko Olina Center and members and friends of the Honolulu
Printmakers.
