International Print Residency: TR3 Honolulu
In association with the 84th Annual Exhibition, Juror Prawat
Laucharoen invited a small, international group of print artists to
meet, stay together, and work on their own projects in the same
workspace.
Invited participants included artists from Thailand, Ireland,
Australia, and Hawai‘i. The artists brought concept materials,
information, and ideas. They shared parallels and divergences and
produced work. At the end of 14 intensive days there was a public
presentation of the installation work in the Mezzanine Gallery of the
HMA School concurrent with the 84th Annual Exhibition.

Impressions is the Honolulu Printmakers' annual portfolio sale and takes place
Thanksgiving weekend. The public is invited to look through the artists' portfolios,
containing woodcuts, etchings, screen prints and lithographs in every price range.
Unique print portfolios featured at Impressions have included Time & Place about Manoa
Heritage Center and Impressions of Iolani Palace. A
special Mai Ka Pohaku lithograph, a collaborative print is
often organized by printmaker David Smith and has featured artists
such as Lori Uyehara, Russell Lowrey, Yvonne Cheng, Daniel Van Zyle.
